Before we get started – we love Christina Ricci. She is probably one of the most beautiful women in such a refreshing way. For those of you who have been catching her in the new show Pan Am, you know, she is full of inspiration and beauty. She is one of those actresses that has a way of being so impact full in such a subtle way. A muse to us all without us even knowing it. What better way to be a muse to hair stylists than in the world of hair color.
This week we are all about Christina! Check out this killer spread in Australia’s publication of Oyster Mag. I love her hair color, and thought it was a must to break down for this weeks Hair Color Wednesday! So keep scrolling down for the Ricci Hair Color Formula.
The Ricci Life – Actress Christina Ricci stars in Australian publication Oyster Magazine’s latest issue. Photographed by Gregory Harris, Christina plays the role of wild child on the back of a motorcycle and wearing the designs of Burberry Prorsum, Jil Sander, Proenza Schouler and others selected by Stevie Dance.

What I love about this color: The simplicity! There is a great combination of contrasting tones. The depth and coolness of the base and the strength of contrast in the rich golden highlights surrounding her face make this an unbelievable brunette. Ideal For Short to Mid Length Hair.
How would I do it: We will base this color off someone with a natural level 4/5. Our goal for this color will be a base level 4 with a 6 level highlight.
Step 1: Isolate baby fine slices in a diagonal forward placement off of the part approximately 3/4 of an inch apart. Formula – 6 level Green Tone (6AG; ash green) with 20 vol.
Step 2: Apply base color throughout entire hair from roots to ends. Formula – 1 & 1/2 oz of 4 level Neutral Ash (4NA), 1/2 oz of Blue Additive (Blue Kicker)
Step 3: After processing, shampoo hair and Glaze hair. Formula – Ammonia Free/Demi Color, 7 level Golden or Golden Beige Tone (7G or 7GB)

I just love Christina Ricci. I like her style a lot.
