Artist Jennifer O'brien brings a unique blend of old and new to all of her pieces. Crafted as "collage" based artwork, Jenifer brings new life to all of her "vintage" & "borrowed" findings.

The most interesting materials are not sold in art stores.  As a collage artist, I find beauty in simple scraps, vintage, found objects and other “borrowed” imagery that I collect.  I then compose with these items, full of stories and meaning from their “past lives”, orchestrating a new order by joining these discarded bits and pieces into a new purpose and perspective.  The nature of collage-making is very sensory and I enjoy creating pieces that encourages intimacy and interaction from the viewer or wearer.  May materials and intuition be my guide... as often I begin with one image or material, allowing that to lead me to the next... continuing to add, subtract and arrange... a new story is born.

While I will always pine for the fall leaves of my native hills of Pennsylvania, I currently call sunny Palm Beach Gardens, Florida my home, sharing life and love with my supportive husband, two spirited daughters and loyal dog.

The first time I saw her work I was really drawn to it! I always love the combination of something old and something new. I am so excited to bring her stuff to our website and am even more excited to share it with you guys!

Check out some more of her work:

Hi I’m shuntivia and I go to aveda in Tallahassee and I really love aveda. I lean so much important information about hair and aveda is a good school because I learns so much these last few months I been there. I learn so much about aveda products and the one thing I love the most about aveda and the products I love that’s its all natural. I learn so many hair styles at aveda I was in the intro class but I’m in a1 now I’m so proud of myself. I never knew you could get hair flat straight with a blow dryer like when I first saw one of my educators do a demon on one of my classmates head I was so shocked I was like wow. I know going to aveda will really help me out alot and I also know that I will be successful when I finish there. I know aveda can be tough sometimes but it’s a fight to the finish nothing in life gets handed to you. I always understand the dress code and everything cause they are training and learning us how to be successful hair style list not just anybody that work in a hair salon. I think it’s important to be a professional because more people will come back to get their hair done. Its also another thing I love about aveda I really love how they greet and treat there guest and I love how they keep a smile on their guest faces and that’s what keep the guest coming back. I also love the positive energy at aveda everybody do nice and sweet well my class we act like a family because we care for each other and we are always there to help each other out threw our bad days and the good ones as well. I truly came close with alot of ny classmates at aveda I mean I love it and I also love our director mrs.debbie I think she’s the best director that any aveda college can ever have she’s nice and sweet and very caring she’s not one if those director that stay in her office all the time she actually come to our class and talk to us and she take the time to get know all her aveda students which I think that is the best. If I have any readers that thinking about coming to aveda you should because I think this is the best school ever and you actually learn alot about hair and aveda and the products aveda sales and you also learn about retail and learn how to sell aveda products its just so much about aveda you would have to come to see for yourself cause to be honest its awesome but it’s a great day at aveda the end :)
