It’s been done and done, and done again. The Ombre, or 6 months of roots trend, is on its way out! Sarah Jessica Parker, the godmother of the ombre rocked this ages ago on sex and the city. Today, you cant turn a page in People Magazine without seeing roots down to the ears everywhere. Stars like Drew Barrymore, Jessica Biel, Khole Kardashian, all rocked this look. It was good while it lasted, less up keep and more natural, but it’s a new year, time to get our roots under control. Yeah maybe it’s a bit more maintenance, but find the right stylist and a good high-lite or all over color could last you 8-10 weeks.
- Spring is just around the corner. Lets brighten it up a bit! If a full or partial foil is too much for your budget, get a mini foil. Most salons offer $5-$10 per foil. Just add a few around your face or you can add a few in your fringe area. Instant brightening!
- All over colors (1 step processes) are a great way to mask the ombre look. Depending on how light or dark your old blonde ends are, by covering them it can give off a highlighted, sun kissed look. Your old blonde can sneak through and give you lots of dimension. We will just pretend you did that on purpose
Strawberry blondes and playing with different shades of copper are whats in for spring. Go Gingers!!! - Brunettes, I didn’t forget about you. Instead of a full high-lite try bumping your natural dark shade just 1 level up. Add a few foils in the bangs and around your face and voila! Instant lightening gratification!
Don’t get me wrong, the Ombre is a great look. Hell, I just got over my phase. Yes you might be in the salon a few weeks earlier, but maybe its time to change it up again. Sometimes you get stuck in a rut because you don’t have any new ideas for your hair. Hopefully this will get your brain flowing again. There are so many great color options, your roots will thank you!
